bad roads - There are two circles of camp sites. To get to the wifi without a distance, you have to be in the new circle at the tackle shop. But phone service is good along the water in the older circle. The roads in the old circle are very, very bad. Been camping in a few states and the only place with noticeably bad roads have been South Carolina parks. I have only been to two SC parks and both had terrible roads. No need for speed bumps. The new section roads near the information center are very good. Looks like the older circle roads have been abandoned. The rest rooms are decently clean. And the lake location is very nice.

needs updating - the park was terrible with no drive through sites. some of the bathrooms were dirty,and very outdated . I have stayed at many parks,and I want go back to this one.

WARNING Jack Attack - I am writing to warn other trail riders about an incident that happened to me on 5/15/17 while riding the new trails that go by the Living History Farm. A jack got loose & tried to attack me & my horse. My little 5 year old TW mare ran off with me trying to escape the jaws of the jack. My 2 friends got off to control their horses but the jack kept chasing me & my mare. I was terrified & feel truly blessed that I did not end up in the hospital or dead. This animal should not be left at K.M.S.P.

- Well,one wld feel justified in thinking that when you check in and get your site, the employee wld THINK to mention: Bathrooms/showers completely closed, so you have to walk a half mile from that site. No. Driving, cold rain and high winds for days. No soap in the bathroom that is open. Over one year ago this same bathroom was closed for renovations, and still it is closed. Welcome to South Carolina, folks.

out standing! 5 Stars! - Whomever is taking care of this place needs a raise! I walked through geocaching and for the first time in a very long time I saw absolutely no trash at all! Anywhere! And nothing was broken or in disrepair. Awesome job he/she/they are doing.

Sad day at the park - When we visited we took a walk around the lake. At one end there were 2 overhead picnic table areas. Each was occupied by around 60 to 80 people. Loud rap music was blaring from each of the picnic areas like some sort of competition. There were restrooms nearby but apparently people preferred not to use them as the trails were littered with human feces and toilet paper. It was hot and humid and the smell was disgusting. The park could be nice and the people working there quite friendly. Its sad that people act like this in the parks. Wish they could appreciate nature and the sounds it makes.

Major history of South Carolina - My dad used to take us on to this park several times a year. It is a location rich in southern and American history. Well worth a visit. Take along a picnic lunch and good walking shoes.
