The best park to visit - The CCC campground area is the best part of the Belleplain State Forest Very clean park and very friendly atmosphere Workers keep the park looking great considering its in the woods.

- I think people should wear bathing suits not clothes in the water. Babies should not allowed in the water in diapers.

Penny Pine Forest DAR - Does anybody know of the Penny Pine Forest sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution DAR The forest was started circa 1940. I understand it located somewhere in the Lebanon State Forest.

Triple check your camping reservations - Last night after dark we were bumped from our campsite by six rambunctious 30-somethings who wrongly insisted the site was theirs. Six on two, we lost. The park police affirmed there had been a double-booking. My man and I were given the option of camping in the office parking lot overnight. So sad. We got a refund, too, but it really was a bad experience.

Picnic & swimming - Went there with a group on Aug 28...the grounds are great for a day out. However the bathrooms were spotless at 8:30, but by 10am they were a disgusting mess that just got worse. If a Parkway reststop can be kept clean all day, so can 4 bathrooms. Half the adjacent beach area was closed but had 2 lifeguards in one chair...maybe one could have moved 75 feet and sat by himself and avoinded terrible overcrouding? Beaches were also closed for 45 min 3 times so both life guards could take their break together instead of staggering them. As a park the people that were there that day made a mess, there was no Ranger control and do not listen to instructions. One person was told not to fish 5 times over the loud speaker, but just kept walking back and fishing and there were no rangers in sight all day. This facility is to be closed M-F Aug 29- Sept 3 and then open for the final Holiday weekend. I think new management is warranted, as this is a beautiful area. I would love to come back, but not on the weekend.

love the lake! - Visited a couple years back for a party and enjoyed the picnic area and loved the beach and lake...the lake temperature was wonderful and such an enjoyable swim...plan to return.

what have they done - they cleared out privacy between the road around the lake and lower parking area to make more room for more parking what a mess they destroyed milkweed plants that are very important for monarch butterflies this was the fish and wild life department what are they thinking put it back becoming to commercial it made us cry

My favorite hideaway in college - I used to go up there alone or with my gf when i was in college Times at Seton Hall we had to get out of Essex County, and we would sit by roaring stream or by the lake all day

Birding Paradise - Great place to hike, bird and photograph wildlife. Nice place to hold large picnics as well.
