Cox, Hodges, McNeil family fun 2023 - Our family had an amazing time on the water. We fish, we swim, we rode the pontoon around the crisp beautiful gulf blue waters.
Noisy - I imagine if you are camping in an RV/Travel Trailer this will not apply to you. As a tent camper, this park is extremely noisy. Not just from surrounding traffic noise, but also from other campers who like making noise.
Very disappointing. - Very disappointing. We entered the reserve off of Route 46. The road was in bad shape with ruts and potholes. Things were unkempt . Signs old and rickety. Went as far as you could drive to where it was gated and could go no go no further. Were going to do a trail in that area but noticed gun shot holes in the signs and in the map display case. No one else was there anywhere. We felt unsafe so left And went to Bear Pond Park and walked.
First timers - Great time hiking on our way to Alabama. Ranger reported water level was up 15 feet. Our feet got a little muddy on the Lime Sink Trail. Would love to come back and camp or stay in a cabin. Also looks like a great river to canoe.
Do NOT RECOMMEND - After driving an hour to meet family, we got there with a loaded car of beach stuff and kids and were turned down because they were full after our family was already in the park all set up waiting for us The guy at the entrance was rude and did not care at all. Waste of our time and vacation. We were very let down. Way to Tura family beach day.
