A true oasis, Oasis State Park is set among cottonwood trees, shifting sand dunes, and a small fishing lake.

Nature of the Area

More than 80 bird species make their home at the park during the year. It's especially ideal in winter. Look for great blue heron, ring-neck pheasant, quail, and western sandpiper.

Located in Eastern New Mexico, the park offers a fishing pond stocked with rainbow trout and channel catfish. Anglers can also enjoy catch-and-release fly-fishing for bass. The sandy shores provide perfect spots for casting lines or picnicking between catches.

May 27 Swimming Beach by J. Whary, Park Manager

Oasis State Park does not have a swimming beach as no swimming or wading is allowed. Pond is for fishing only. Also, there is no primative camping, however, there are 10 developed tent sites and 13 developed sites with electricity.
