October 17 A world class destination by Craig Johnson

After being in fifty one countries I can still say the SC parks along the Blue Ridge Escarpment are as satisfying an experience as any to be found far away. We are fortunate to have these delights so close at hand. Turn off the tube and take a hike!!

We stopped by around 10 am on our way home from camping, and the view was AMAZING! It was October 17, 2010. There was still fog rising up between the mountains, and I captured great pictures!

A breathtaking view and wonderful short hiking trail. The visitor center was friendly and informative as well! A perfect picnic stop.
