Park Visitor: Comments, Memories and Reviews
November 19 A truly wonderful state park. by Nancy & SJ
This is not only a beautiful place, the park seems to be very well maintained. We camped there in our RV for several days. The park manager, Steven Welch, was extremely welcoming and helpful. Laurie, the curator of the Otis House gave a very informative and interesting tour. We so enjoyed our stay in Fairview State Park. We will tell others and make plans to return there.
May 22 Great Place to Camp by patti
We really enjoyed our stay at this park. No problems, safe and clean. We will definitly return.
November 26 Rude rangers by mawmawrose@hotmail.com
Beware the rangers at this park need to go to school for people skills most of all R Monk. His rudest and ugly manners almost mess our Thanksgiving week up. He needs to think this is not a prison but a fun time for people that pays his salary. We love the park have been coming for 40yrs or more. This week was a nightmare. Please fix this problem. God Bless
May 11 Wonderful place to camp by Albany Table And Chair Rentals
the park rangers were very helpful with all questions . the restrooms and showers were very clean. caught lots of pan fish. the lots were very clean. could have a little more lighting in the back lots.as for the peacocks , no bother to me . loved hearing them.make sure to bring lots of ice , there is no ice to buy there. I will be back.
February 10 Not what it use to be by Fairview State Prison
This use to be our favorite campground until they had a change of staff. It feels like a prison atmosphere having a spot light shining on campers while he makes his rounds like a prison guard. Waking campers up if 1 tire is touching the grass is alittle crazy. Wait until morning to ask someone to move. So many unhappy campers.
September 3 Excellent Place To Camp by Wayne & Shelly
This is one of our favorite places to camp. We go there often since it only takes us about an hour to get there. The place is well managed and kept up. We are always looking forward to our next trip.
June 23 A wonderful place by Steven
We stayed here last year about November time. We loved it. It is quiet and shaded well. It is close to several areas for tourist. We look forward to returning every year.
June 1 Family oriented and clean by La. girl loves trees.
We have gone there for the last few years. I absolutely love it. We cannot wait until the next time we get to go back. It is a clean, and easy to love park.
May 24 Favorite park by Mike, Cyndi, Ricky and Judy
This is one our favorite parks and we wish they had more water front sites and a place to swim. We also enjoy going to the boat launch at the lake and crab and fish.
April 11 LOVE IT..AWESOME!! by the best custermors
my family go every Easter and mardi gras.. and also in between times ..we love it there..the front bath house needs to be re done just like the back one..very peaceful place..they really need to fix the entrance on the otis house because they are awesome places to take any forms of pictures..they need to put in swimming place to cool off..i would very recommended them to put in a swimming pool or place in the river to swim !! overall i would recommended to anyone to go and stay...!! AN AWESOME PLACE WORDS CANT EVEN DESCRIBE IT !!!..
November 2 by The Brelands
My family and I have spent many weekends at the campground. I love the scenery but I think it is time to update the bathroom facilities in the front. When it rains the commodes back up and it is terrible. I have seen many people make that journey to the back just to take a shower.

I agree with some of the other post regarding the trees that need to be cut back! My dad was leaving the park from the back, almost tore his awning off on a big oak tree. And we will not go to the park without a reservation on sites we KNOW our campers will fit into...because of the pine trees being just too cramped and close to the sites. Other than that we love it and yes, the eating places in Madisonville are wonderful!
October 11 lifetime vister by fisherman
i live down the road from this park and i go almost every day. i love to fish in both the river and the pond. great staff very friendly.

April 24 NOT COMPLAINING JUST EXPLAINING by TIGER64
THE NEIGHBORS PEACOCKS NEED TO BE ON A GRILL. JUST KIDDN. BUT THEY DO AGGRAVATE WITH THEIR HOLLERING. FRONT BATH HOUSE NEEDS UPDATING. OLD GLASS WINDOWS LET IN ALL THE BUGS. SITES NEED UPDATING FOR ALL THE FANCY NEW CAMPERS WITH SLIDE OUTS. OTHER THAN THAT, NICE FAMILY CAMPING.
January 12 helpful by buie
My husband became ill while staying in the park. he had to be hospitlized. the park staff was very helpful in re-locating me. the campground host helped me move my rig. we did fine, but almost did not get into site 31 because of a tree. It would not hurt to remove 1 tree to enable a person to park more easily, but thanks to the help of the host and staff we made it
November 16 Muffle the Peacocks! by Jay & Martha
We love the park. Excellent kayaking. Food in the area restaurants is delicious and reasonable. We really like the maritime museum in Madisonville. My favorite Live Oak tree is just down the road from the park across from the cemetery.
November 5 My favorite camping spot so far by New to camping
Beautiful campground, beautiful surroundings, Lots of shade, nice camping spots, brand new bathhouse by the river, playground, just a great place to camp
September 26 lifetime user of park
very nice park family oriented but the trees is what downgrades the park trees to be trimmed out so you could at least use your awning and backing up purposes
August 11 We visit often
Nice shaded spots. Beautiful by the water. Great family place
